It’s time to let your Boneka dolls see “Christmas Sparkle!”

Actually this will just be a peek as I only finished it a little bit ago. Rebecca found some little girl’s tights at Walmart in a gold sparkle (I think Susette said they had some) so I was able to get things finished and some pictures taken. I’ll try my best to get some more taken tomorrow and hopefully get it listed on Ebay.

I had to get out a few Christmas props, cause this is called “Christmas Sparkle!” Thanks Linda!

I have an appointment in the middle of the day with my regular eye doctor to see if things are progressing as they are supposed to be and then he’ll take one final measurement and reading on my left eye to make sure it works with my “new” eye and get it ready for surgery next Friday. I’m ready!

Sorry about the “non” panties picture of Noel… I made the thigh highs and didn’t think to put any panties on her before snapping my pictures. I think they look wonderful with her sweater.

I added a small piece of gold ribbon to the front part of Noel’s dress and sewed a few gold beads on to enhance it. The ribbon only goes to the side seam; not all the way around to the back.

I did some hand embroidery and made a burgundy flower on one side of her sweater and put 3 gold beads (buttons) on the other side.

Since I only have just a couple of scraps I made her a pretty hair bow with a snap clip on the back… It can be placed wherever the winner likes.

Noel got in the Dolly Toy Box and found her “accessory”…a little brown bear in a pair of homespun checked overalls. She’s been calling him Chadwick. I don’t know where she came up with that name… (looks like he was into the candy…he’s got a little piece of pink fuzz on his face. I’ll get that off.)

We had a good time taking pictures… Here are a few more…

Not too shabby for a one eyed seamstress, is it? Just wait till I get TWO GOOD EYES! Christmas, here I come! :o)

Thanks everyone,
See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

The outfit turned out just darling, Jeanne! I love the embroidery on the sweater, and that gold ribbon on the dress adds just the right amount of sparkle. Noel is not going to want to give this one up (and especially not Chadwick, her bear!!).

    1. Thanks Charlotte,
I did it…I have the dress listed on Ebay now and Noel thinks she’s a big star with all the fuss over how she looks. I’ll break it to her gently that she’ll have to take it off soon.
      Thank you so much
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Oh, so sweet and sparkly, Jeanne! I love what you did to add just the right touch to the sweater and dress! Somebody is going to be very happy with this one! So happy you were able to find gold tights to add to the ensemble, and that little Chadwick is perfect!
I too, love the lacy background!
    You are a one-eyed wonder!

    1. Thank you Linda,
This one went together pretty quickly and now it’s up for grabs on Ebsy! Yay…I did it!

The doctor said today that this “one eyed wonder” now has 20/20 vision in that eye. He had to dilate my eye to check it so I was pretty blurry eyed most of the afternoon. But it’s worth it for the good report.
Thank you for your kind compliments, Linda.
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhh, Jeanne!
Your exquisite touches on Noel’s sparkly dress, sweater, bow and tights make a spectacular presentation for the holidays! Every detail is lovely, (though a girl can’t travel without undies😊), including Chadwick, who looks like he’s just biding his time until he can get into the divinity! Beautiful in every way! 💖

    1. Thank you Anne,
Thank you for your sweet comments…and you’ll be pleased to know now there are a pair of panties included with the set!! Your comment pushed me to make them. :o)
      Thank you so much,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Jeanne, the outfit is darling! I don’t know how you can see with eyesight compromised from surgery. I need cataracts done but not ready to face that yet. You did great girl!

    1. Hi Sandra,
I jus found out today I have 20/20 vision in that eye now!! Now I’m the one going to be telling everyone it’s a piece of cake. I can’t wait to get the left eye done now!! Maybe it’ll be you someday.
      Thanks so much
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Little Noel is simply beaming in her new ensemble. Wasn’t sure how it would turn out, but with your vision (no pun intended) it has morphed into that Christmas dream. I honestly think this would work for Thanksgiving too.
Happy you are working so well with your “new” eye. I know other person had fits until both were lined up.
We’re so happy to have heat this morning. Had it been a few days ago, we would have been out in the car trying to get warm. It is January dry weather here in northern CA.

    1. Thank you Joy,
Ooooo…I like “Christmas Dream” for a dress title…may I steal that from you?
      Thanks for the compliments too.
Yea…I know what he was going through until he got the second eye done. I wish it was Friday already. But I can wait.
We have a heater going right now… pretty chilly here. I hope the fires are calming down…I didn’t see any news today.

      Thanks Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. Glad to hear about your eye surgeries coming along. Soon you will be through with the second one. Will you have perfect vision in both?
Noel looks so sweet in this adorable outfit. I love the material choices. The print is a good color with the sparkly gold material. They off set each other too. You chose a good name too. I like how the gold belt accents the outfit in the middle room and her little bear is the perfect little accessory for Noel’s outfit. Someone will snap this darling Christmas outfit up in no time.

We have been traveling for a few days and have arrived out West. Our drive was long and crossing through the southwestern states, the weather was cold, icy and very windy. We weren’t expecting that kind of weather. There were many semi’s overturned or off the road along the way. It was very scary.
Thanks for sharing the updates on Joy. Glad she is safe despite the difficulties going on in her area. My prayers go out to all those residents dealing with those catastrophic fires. Hope her home and surrounding area remains safe.

    1. Hi Paula,
Well my eye doctor told me today I have 20/20 vision in the eye that was just done. I guess we’ll see what happens with the left eye next week.
Linda thought if the name Christmas Sparkle and I thought it was perfect!! Noel thought so too.
I’m glad you made it safely to your destination. I saw a bunch of overturned 18 wheelers on TV the other night on the news. They said the wind was likely the cause…it looked very scary to me.
      Stay safe…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. The ensemble is perfect, so cheerful and colorful. I can’t take credit for the suggestion about the little girls’ tights at Walmart but it makes me want to go there to get some. Might the material be good for a sweater, too, or just the tights?

The background looks great with the lace behind the scene. It adds so much to the whole picture. Much better than plain gray! You certainly have a wonderful collection of the tiny bears. I can’t seem to find them on any of the websites. Not that I need anymore.

About the eyes, I could read very small print right away. I had the lens put in for reading and just a regular lens for distance. One really shouldn’t worry about having this kind of surgery. Save the worry for other conditions. I’m still waiting for Jeanne to mention the difference in colors, or did it not change? Check it out by closing one eye and then the other to see if you notice, Jeanne. I sure did as it was truly startling.

I did wonder why I was feeling a little cold and found that it was 65 in the house this morning. Brrrrrr.

    1. Hi Susette,
It wasn’t you who was talking about the gold tights at Walmart? I thought it was… oh well…they worked wonderfully.
I think they just might work for a doll sweater so I’ll have to maybe give that a try.

Cindy actually sent me that bear…he was attached to a bigger bear with a few threads. I just clipped them apart.

I talked to my dr today about the distance eye lens. He said I could probably get by with a standard, regular lens. My right eye, my close up eye, has a toric lens. I have to decide if it’s worth $995 to get possibly 10% more vision.
He said with both eyes working together, they would probably be as good as it ws with my contacts before the cataracts started messing with my vision.
YES, YES, YES…things are much brighter… it’s almost weird how bright things are now. The ceiling is bright, the toilet paper almost glows and the light coming in between my window blinds looks like I’m in a hospital…
I’m loving it..and yes, for right now, my reading eye is very clear! I’m so glad, at least for now, that I can use my phone without having to grab a pair of readers.
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. What a beautiful outfit!!! Every aspect of it is lovely. The idea of the faux belt is great and Noel even found a bear with a good color match in his outfit. Chadwick… Love the name. You do realize you’re in for quite the fight getting this off her. She’s probably planning to hang on tightly to her bear figuring if she does that you won’t be able to get the sweater and dress off and that you won’t try to take the bear from her for fear of pulling off and arm or leg. Oh these little ones do plan.

Your recovery from your eye surgery is amazing. I’m hoping never to have it done, but if or when I do I’m looking to you as inspiration.

I’m using one of your techniques on the pinafore for Lolla Rose. It is a gold glitter organza. Unfortunately it sheds its glitter. Yuck! But it is beautiful so I am still going with it. It is very lightweight and the top needs to be lined. What to use that won’t take away from the see-through look and keep it lightweight? Ah! Tulle. Perfect. I will also line the skirt of the pinafore with it so I don’t have to do the narrow hem. I will heed your comment yesterday about the fragility of doing this and work slowly and gently.

I saw the tights at Wal-Mart the other day when I was looking for cable knit tights. They had them in gold and silver. I bought both not knowing exactly who will be wearing what for Christmas. I was wondering how they would make up into tights or thigh highs on smaller dolls. It appears perfectly. They turned out great.

The low here last night was 31. There was definitely frost on the pumpkin this morning. Or at least on my Halloween pumpkin coach. Needless to say the heat went on this morning. I like it cold when I sleep, but if it’s too cold during the day all I want to do is curl up in my recliner with a blanket and a cup of tea and nothing gets done. I think it was two years ago when we had snow in early December. It was our first real cold snap that year. When we turned on the heater it didn’t work. Four days of a cold house while our son was fixing others. We had to wait our turn. This year we’ve had a lot of cold weather early. Another front on the way Friday. I’m not complaining really, but I do enjoy the fall-like days when the lows are in the 40s and the highs in the 60s and you want to be out doing things on the property or cleaning the garage. When it’s cold and windy staying in seems like a really good idea. But it is a good excuse to sew guilt free.

    1. Hi Barbara,
Thank you for your kind comments on Noel’s dress set. I’m hoping I can bribe her with some candy to take off the dress and sweater.

Things have gone so well with my eye surgery, I feel like being a spokesperson for cataract surgery. It has been much easier than I ever expected… not a bit of pain in my eye, around my eye or anything else. I’m so very happy with how it’s going.
I have all my “glitter” tulle in a zip lock bag. I’m not a big fan of it either…it gets everywhere. I hope your project works as well as mine did.

There were 2 pair of tights in a bundle at Walmart…a cream pair and the gold pair. Remember to get the largest size (12/14), to get the most for your money.

We had a hard freeze ladt night and the windshields were all icy this morning. We’ve been running a heater most of the day…its been pretty chilly. Stay warm!!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings ,Jeanne

  9. Oh my, I must say this is a real favorite. Love the fabric print and the colors look so nice on her! That sweater and tights make it all come together. Hope you do something else to use that fabric for tights a d sweater on the AG.
Glad your eye is coming right along… ext Friday can’t come too soon so it is all over!
    Have a good weekend!

    1. Thank you Kathie,
You’re so kind with your compliments on Noel’s dress set. I’m glad you like it so much.
I hope someone else does too.
I have lots of “tights” fabric so I can make lots more tights for ALL my girls sizes.
You are so right…Friday, come quickly,
      Blessings ,Jeanne
