Have a wonderful Sunday (and now Tuesday!)

I guess you noticed my post for Easter was missing…that’s because my website server decided to upgrade and my site wasn’t ready for it. I’m not sure of the terminology, I just know nothing I tried to do would make it work and even when the last guy I talked to on the phone got things up and running, he told me I needed to get a web designer to put things back the way they were…

I have no idea why the comments are at the TOP of the posts now but you CAN comment by clicking that link at the top and posting your comment…

I hope you’ll stick around until this gets resolved… I plan to! :o) I just gained about 14 new subscribers and now this happens… GRRRR!!! I’ve got LOTS of dolly things to share with you… :o)  Sarah is working on this trying to get things back the way they were…UGH!

If you didn’t see my Easter Post, it’s below… somehow we’ll manage to make this work…

Whether you celebrate Easter or not, I hope your Sunday is a wonderful day. I am spending mine with family; bringing my momma here for her first real outing since she moved…we are being non-conformists and having turkey! :o)

I tried to make things a little bit Eastery and in the middle of trying to decide what to do for a centerpiece for my table, my neighbor knocked on my back door and had a bundle of lilacs from her bushes for me!!! Perfect!!!

Thank you for the sweet comments about Bailey’s new dress set…I guess I was busier than I thought because the first time I looked at my blog and read your comments, it was almost 11:00 p.m….too late for me to comment.

Thank you, Lord, for how you have blessed my family!

See you Monday,
Blessings, Jeanne

I am sure your holiday was blessed as It sure be. I made your strawberry salad and it was a big hit. It looks like spring. Thank you for sharing your recipe.

    1. Hi Sylvia,
I’m so glad you made the strawberry salad AND loved it. I almost made it myself, but ended up making s salad with tomatoes and cucumbers…
We did have a nice time and the weather could not have been more perfect..
      Thanks Sylvia,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. Well, looks like you are back on. However, what’s with all of the comments listed above?? Recent Comments and then again Recent Comments?? Have not seen that before.

Hope your Easter was grand. Love your beautiful lilacs and the bunnies. So festive and springy. Did you have family or family/friends over?

We went to see the grands and had a wonderful brunch courtesy of son in law’s parents. The kids had an exciting egg/prize hunt too. Lots of fun.

I’ve about exhausted the Monique website looking at various wigs. Trying to find a blond or cute red for Stella May. Still looking.

    Glad you’re back! 🙂

    1. How interesting. This is my comment from yesterday, Monday, when I found the blog back online. But, no problem, glad things are kind of back to normal. I notice that right above the comments is still the listing for Recent Comments. At least they are not listed twice like yesterday. 🙂 And the Speak Your Mind is now above the already posted comments. Just a little backwards, but I’m sure it will be back to normal soon.

Here in northern CA, the weather has been grand. In the 80’s yesterday, and it may hit 90 today. Means I must get out early and do some watering. If you can believe that.

I had not heard of the Listerine/mold remedy from Susette. Good to know.

So happy you are back online and to hear from others too. How’s the dolly sewing coming along? Are you going to list Bailey’s dress?

      1. Hi Joy,
Sarah was a miracle worker and got my blog all put back together! I owe her big time on this one!!!
She texted me earlier and asked if everything looked okay? I couldn’t find anything that was outbif place or missing!
I am SO SO thrilled…you have no idea!!!

As for Easter, it was just me and George and Rebecca and my mom… Kristoffer joined us about 1/2 way through lunch and stayed for about an hour and a half…

We had a nice lunch, then George took my mom out to see his birds. I think she enjoyed that.

Today we washed all the green mold off our garage and house. It took most of the day and was very tiring. We even got rained on but kept on working. Now our house is all sparkly white… :o)

I’m going to get Bailey’s dress listed as soon as I can…

        Thanks Joy,
        Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Had trouble all day trying to access your site. I even did a virus scan on my computer thinking it might be my problem. Glad to see it’s back but I too am curious about what is going on with the comments. Just what you need, another thing to be concerned about.

I had a wonderful Easter. Spent the morning at church with family and singing in the choir and had lunch with our son and his family. Pretty much what we do every Sunday but for a joyous celebration. And the weather was better than the best. We’re actually having a spring here this year.

    1. Hi Barbara,
You couldn’t access my blog because there was nothing to access…until Sarah put it back together! She got things up and running and I hope it runs smoother than ever now!!

We are actually having a Spring too, here in Southern Illinois and I am LOVING it! Our days have been gorgeous lately and it could stay like this forever as far as I’m concerned!!!
      Thanks Barbara,
      Blessings, Jeanne

I figured it was a problem with the web site, when not only did I get the “not responding” thing the first day, but then the second day it wanted to download something to my computer (which turned out to be nothing but gobbledy-gook!! Yup, gotta be a server issue!! Dorothy kindly emailed me to let me know (waving!!) but I think I’d figured it out by then. It was nice to have it confirmed, though–I tend to get a little paranoid when things that I don’t understand don’t work as they should!

We had a lovely Easter breakfast at our church, followed by worship at 11; however I kind of spoiled it for myself when I whacked my bare foot on the doorjamb at home after putting my sausages in the oven to reheat! I have a lovely bruised area at the base of my smaller toes, and up into my baby toe, and have had some problems with swelling if I forget to put my feet up now and then. I have a hunch I may have cracked a bone; it’s really quite an impressive bruised area!!

Your lilacs are just lovely–I can practically smell them!! Mine won’t be blooming for maybe another 3-4 weeks–we had two weeks of snow in Feb., and that tends to slow down the growing season around here. On the plus side, they Might still be blooming on our anniversary (May 18)! We’ll see….

Hope you had a joyous Easter; I know it’s been a rough month, but things will get better! Well, they have started, since you’ve been back in your sewing room!!

    1. Hi Charlotte,
No more gobbledygook from my blog!!! YAY FOR SARAH!!! She truly is amazing!!!

Oh poor you…I bet you broke your little pinky!!! Ouch!!! I hope it heals quickly…now no running for you!!

I know how you love lavendar and these lilacs smell up my whole kitchen and living room area! My neighbor said I could pick bouquets any time I wanted!!! Yes, Please!!!

Sewing again was a great help! I missed it!!
      Thanks Charlotte,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. It’s nice to get back with you, Jeanne! I normally get two blogs from you, the same thing, mind you, but only got one today, the 5:00 one. Oh well, at least I got one! I hope the problems with the blog get ironed out soon!

What a lovely Easter display on your table! So you have both white and lavender lilacs? Lucky you! I have had two lilac bushes, but they never did much and get that horrible mildew problem each year, so I pulled them out. And to think they are my favorite spring flowers!

We had a beautiful Easter day here, as I am sure you did too, as far as weather goes. We spent the morning at church and the afternoon with our daughter and her family. Our oldest granddaughter just got her driving license, which makes me feel old, since I remember when she was born, just like it was yesterday! Time sure flies!

Have you been able to list Bailey’s dress? I think it is Bailey, but it’s been so long, I can’t remember! 🙂

    1. Hi Linda,
Maybe this new and improved version of my blog will be better than ever and maybe everyone will start getting the posts on the right days and not a day late. That would be a real blessing…

The lilacs actually came from my neighbors bushes…we used to have a bush but it died. I love the smell of them in my house…

No, I haven’t gotten Baileys dress listed yet. We had to get some of this STUFF from my moms apartment straightened out here. My house was looking like a furniture outlet place…and then there were all the towels and dishes and all her clothes and toiletries…it was too much and we had to find a place for everything and Goodwill some of it…

      Thanks Linda,
We did have a beautiful Easter day here like you,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. So glad the blog is back! The Comments are at the bottom now. Also they show up right away without having to click on the blue print at the top which no longer appears. Maybe more people will comment now that the Comments appear for all to see right away at the bottom of the blog. Hope so.

About mildew and aphids on plants: Plain Listerine, not the flavored kind, mixed 50/50 with water and sprayed on the leaves will eliminate both aphids and mildew. Google “Listerine for Mold on Plants” or something like that and this solution will show up. It doesn’t have to be done very often. I use it for a huge Hoya plant that stays outdoors that is sometimes afflicted with aphids. Sad about your plants, Linda.

    1. Hi Susette,
I hope my blog is running smoothly and efficiently now
..it seems to be. SARAH did a fantastic job of getting it together so quickly. Yesterday it was non existent…seriously. it was gone…I wasn’t able to access it, because it was just nothing…
I was pretty nervous. Sarah spent all night getting it backed up so nothing would be lost when she started putting things back together…
I never knew lilacs got mold in them…I just love their smell. George’s mom used to have the hugest lilac bush I have ever seen…it smelled divine…
      Thanks Susette,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Dear Jeanne, hello. I am so glad your site is up. I missed connecting with you and the blog family.
Blue skies and sunshine here! May 1 is next week. Yeaaaaa!

    1. Hi Dorothy
I missed you and all my other friends too!!! It’s nice that this problem was solved so quickly by Sarah!!! She did an amazing job…and I am so grateful… SO grateful.
May 1st is almost here…you were right…it did come!!!
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  8. Hope everyone had a lovely Easter. The sweet bunnies and lilacs are such a nice table display. My lilacs are just beginning to bloom. I have one old-fashioned and one of the Kim varieties. Everything’s a tad early than usual. the lilacs are usually in full bloom for Mother’s Day.

    1. Hi Laura,
I think everyone did have a nice Easter and I think everyone knows about lilacs. They are such a sweet smelling flower…I love them.
My neighbor, who gave me those, has about 6 bushes lining her driveway…I think I’d roll down the car windows every time I pulled in the driveway or left.
      Thanks Laura,
      Blessings, Jeanne
