Ten Ping is looking ever so sweet…

You’ll be happy with me…I was very busy today… with sewing! :o) I worked on Ten Ping’s new set and managed to get it almost finished… I might make some thigh highs… but look at what I DID get finished…

She wanted to put on her “bob” wig…so we did!

Her dress is ALL done…I added 5 sets of buttons around the bottom.

Her jacket is made from wool felt and I edge stitched it on my machine and added a teeny tiny little decoration just for fun.

She now has a new slip under her dress…

…a new hat…

…and a new pair of itty bitty shoes with a patent leather strap and a button.

Ten Ping and I couldn’t be happier with this set… She loves it and I do too…

I turned out my OTT lights and she pooped out on me and asked to take off her shoes… :o)

I love this little girl…

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

Ten Ping is adorable in her new outfit, Jeanne! Love all the details you put into each part of the outfit. Her little “brooch” adds a nice touch to the jacket, and I love the addition of the bow on her hat, too.

Has she dug into the toy box yet?!

    1. HI Charlotte,
It was too late last night for me to suggest the toy box but I bet she finds it today…
      Thank you,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. This is a darling set, Jeanne, and I think Ten Ping is really going to be upset with you when you have to take it off! Such sweet additions to the dress make it stand out and give her such a confident look! I especially love the little brooch, an added touch to the outfit.
Even your background is something that gives interest without being too busy, and prefer it to a plain background. It reminds me of your curtains, but I’m sure the checks are much bigger on them.
Like Charlotte mentions, has she dug into the toy box yet?

Oh my gosh! I just noticed, my name and email address are already there! Hooray!

    1. Thanks Linda,
Ten Ping is adorable even just in her panties…I’m so glad to have her in my group of girls.
That tiny vintage button was from some Cindu sent me. I can see the details of it better in my picture…
Congrats on your name being filled in when you tried to make a comment. It’s the little things that mean a lot!!!
      Thanks,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. That is just adorable! The black and aqua fabrics are really pretty, and I love the little piping at the waist. The little shoes never cease to amaze me. I remember when you were figuring out how to make them and sharing the efforts on your blog. I don’t know if they’ve become easy for you to make or not, but they sure do look nice!

    1. Thanks so much Carolyn,
I’m glad you like Ten Ping’s dress set. Somehow making those tiny little shoes seems to be therapeutic for me… I enjoy making them….all the while trying to perfect them even more.
      Thanks again,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. Super outfit for Ten Ping. I love all your details …. the piping; buttons; brooch; slip; hat and of course those super cute shoes. I just love all the pieces you come up with to complete each ensemble.

Cold weather is really making its way here, 30 degrees this am and the bird bath is frozen solid. It was in the 80’s last week – Michigan weather always keeps you guessing.

    1. Thank you Leigh,
I have just as much making my little outfits as you probably do looking at them. I just love to sew and I’m glad it shows!!!
We hit 38 yesterday morning, but it’s warmed up 51 today…It’s soup weather to me! :o)
      Thanks so much Leigh,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Ten Ping is just as sweet as she can be in her new outfit. Again, the detail is superb. The hem in the little check to her flowered jacket and hat are adorable. The color of the blue goes perfect with the print of her dress. Your choice of print, colors and how you put the outfit together is what you’re famous for. The outfit is perfect and simply precious.

    1. Thank you so much for your very kind compliments, Paula. I do try hard to make things as well as I can… I especially love mixing and matching fabrics and laces and trims together! Thank you so much!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. I totally agree with the others above, Jeanne. Your work on Ten Ping’s outfit has come out so nicely…the details never too overdone but add so much….especially admire the use of the buttons here and there…exquisite. I’m so glad that you’ve had time to get back to sewing again. May it continue for you and may your heart soar with needle and thread and fabric!

    Blessings.

    1. HI Becky,
I am so glad to be back on my sewing room again… nothing seems as normal as when I’m in that room! Thank you for your kind words about Ten Ping’s outfit. She needs to find a toy today for it…
      Thanks Becky,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Well, this morning I received both of your posts on the right day. Jeanne and I Dream of Jeanne Marie. However, neither produced my name already typed in like Linda mentioned.

Little Ten will be all set for those fall activities. Jacket to keep her warm on the hay ride and a dress worthy of that big Turkey Day lurking not far away. I’m glad you chose the bob wig too. Love it. I would like to see a photo of the top/side of the hat though. Did you use the same pattern as that of Bitty’s dress? And those tiny buttons. What a wonderful touch.

Yesterday, was quite a day for me. I received an email from one of my former students who is now 38 and has four adorable children. She wrote a long letter about her struggles in elementary school and how my teaching style had helped her. It was quite overwhelming to me. I received her favorite teacher award. I’m certainly not used to accolades. Wow. She explained how her wonderful mother helped her too by reading her high school novels aloud to her each evening. She took college tests many times trying to improve her poor scores. Her grades were good because of all of the extra credit she did, but she was sure she wouldn’t be accepted anywhere because of the scores. But, she starred in soccer and sent her applications directly to various soccer coaches and was finally accepted at a school that was a good fit and where she could receive the extra help she needed. Fast forward to today, she has a teaching credential in PE, a Masters degree, and a second credential in Home EC and has been teaching for 14 years. She said that she tries to help her students like I did for her and emulates my teaching style. Her letter certainly made my day, week, month, year… The downside is that her oldest son who is eight was finally tested and has what is now the allowable term to use, Dyslexia. It finally dawned on her that she too has it and was just never designated. She has a long road ahead helping her son, but has the personal experience to help him succeed. What a kind thing my former student did when sending me that letter. Really boosted my spirits. Anyone here have a favorite teacher?

    1. HI Joy,
Sarah came over the other day and discovered the list of subscribers who had signed up with the form at the right side bar and then the list of the subscribers who had signed up using Word Press. She wanted me to go through the lists and see if there were duplicate names on the lists… then she said I could delete the ones from Word Press as the Mailchimp list is the one that all my posts actually should be going out from. I haven’t had time to check the lists but I will soon! :o)
Actually I cut a new pattern for Ten Ping’s head and I “may” redo her hat… I think the brim might be a bit too big… I need to look for the pattern I used for Bitty Bethanys’ hat… I liked it very much!
Well let me be the second to congratulate you on your teaching skills! You made a huge difference in this woman’s life and what you taught her will help her with her son! I’m very proud of you for helping her like you did! AAA++++ for Joy !

I had a professor in college who encouraged me with my sewing and designing skills. She used to see me at Farmer’s Market and even though I didn’t turn out to be some big designer, she’d say, “I see you are still sewing!”
I’d say back to her, “yes, I am and I hope I always will be!”

      Thanks for sharing that Joy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

Oh, Joy, how wonderful for you, to receive that letter!! I’m so happy for you.

I taught for about a year, then quit (long story); about 12 or so years later, we were in a restaurant and a young woman kept looking at me. When she and her friend left, she came bock in and up to me, and asked if I had ever taught in…..and of course I had–I had been her second grade teacher! She expressed how much I had meant to her and how sad she was when I left.

Those are things that live forever in your heart! That was probably 30 or more years ago!!

As to a favorite teacher, yes, my 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Naslund, was my favorite. We kept in touch via letters until she died about 15 years ago, and I did go and see her several times as an adult, whenever I was visiting my old home town back in Michigan.

  8. What an adorable outfit! I love the colors. I think Ten Ping is totally adorable and would love to have one but I bought a Magalie LD this year – and a 14″ Betsy and a H4H Lauryce – so I guess I’ve blown my doll budget for the year. Maybe next year, I usually get on my computer in the afternoon and come late to the party. I’m trying to get in the habit of reading the blog in the morning instead – but I still seem to be later than everyone else. Oh well, I will still leave my comments. It’s a need.

    1. HI Barbara,
Congratulations on the new dolls you have received this year. If you watch Ebay, you can find Ten Ping occasionally for a decent price. But I understand about your dolly dollars being all used up. Navi used up the last ones I had! :o)

Welcome to the “morning coffee club!” Lots of ladies read my blog early as they drink their coffee… you are welcome to join our table! Except I’m probably the only one NOT drinking coffee!
      Blessings, Jeanne

Another STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL & CREATIVE outfit for “Ten Ping”, Jeanne!!! My “Ten Ping Mia” is “jealous” of your little Cutie, who gets to wear such WONDERFUL outfits! (Will it be listed on Etsy -or- eBay??? Just wondering…!) Anyway, it truly is LOVELY, and your “Ten Ping” is a lucky girl!

Here at Dad’s house in “downstate/upstate” Rockland County, New York it is downright CHILLY. However…a “funny thing”; this year the leaves have barely turned to autumn splendor colors. Those that HAVE turned are mostly a rather drab “olive-brown” color, bypassing brilliant yellows, oranges, & reds. It’s a REAL letdown!

Off to make lunch for Dad & me, accompanied by the first hot cocoa of the season!

    Happy dolling, Everyone! ~

    Cheryl in NJ (NY)

    1. HI Cheryl,
Thank you for your kind comments about Ten Ping’s new dress set. I’m sorry Mia is jealous of my Ten Ping… but some girls get to model and some girls get to buy the outfits… Ten Ping always has to give her things up… but she forgets each time she’s up for a new dress…so it works out okay! :o)
Yes, Ten Ping’s dress will be listed on Ebay… tonight if I can get things together around here… tomorrow if not…
The same thing is happening to us here in Southern Illinois…not much color in the leaves.. they are just falling off in drab brown colors. I want to see those bright reds and pretty golds… too!
      Yum…Hot cocoa…now THAT’S my drink!!!
      Blessings, Jeanne

  10. OMGosh. Those TINY little details just blow me away! Love the tiny check at the hem and that mini piping at the waist….and the jacket and hat just set it all off. The teeny shoes are perfect even when looked at through a magnifying glass. Do your eyes need a rest today?
You are so amazing and Ten Ping couldn’t be cuter. Have a wonderful day!

    1. Thank you Kathie, for your sweet compliments on Ten Ping’s dress set. She is such a fun little doll to dress… It’s funny, I make lots of those little tiny shoes, but hardly ever make any AG sized shoes… I wonder why? maybe because I have a pretty good stock of their shoes…
I’m hoping to get Ten Ping’s set finished completely today and maybe even listed! That’s the plan at least!
      Thanks so much Kathie,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  11. Dear Jeanne, I am sending teeny tiny hugs and kisses to Ten Ping. She is a little cutie in her new outfit.
How can October be half way over? Are we in some kind of time speed up or something? I want Summer back (laugh)!

    1. HI Dorothy,
I’ll tell Ten Ping you are sending some teeny tiny hugs and kisses to her.. I’m sure she’ll smile. I’m glad you like her outfit!
I know what you mean about October being half over… what’s going on.. wasn’t it just May? We haven’t even really had a Fall yet…it went from 95 degree weather to 45 degree weather… I want to see the leaves turning colors but they say it might not happen this year… they’ll just die and fall off… drab brown… :o(
      Thanks Dorothy,
      Blessings, Jeanne
