2 Updates & a riddle for who’s up next…

Just a few updates first:

Here is Amma’s under blouse for her Sari. It’s almost finished…but I need to do one last fitting for the hooks and eyes on the front. I would have been done, but she wanted some gold piping around the edges… I’ve got to get it finished today… she needs to wear it tomorrow…It seems like this has taken FOREVER!!!

Next: Here is a riddle for you to try and guess who will be up next on my cutting table…

There are 7 vowels in my first and last name added together
My pet’s name ends in the letter “A”
If you add the four numbers up of the year I was born, they equal 15
One of my furniture items generally goes very high on Ebay

Think you know who will be next? (Don’t look below if you want to figure it out on your own…)

See you tomorrow,
Blessings, Jeanne

  1. Jeanne,
Janie will win over the judges with her cuteness even if she doesn’t utter a peep or play a single note.
I’ll bet you are seeing Amma’s (beautiful name, BTW) blouse in your dreams. You did a great job and she will look beautiful in her perfectly fitting blouse.
I am not good at riddles especially so early in the morning, so I looked for the answer, but couldn’t find it. Now, tell us, who is next???

    1. Thanks so much Cindy,
Oh, Janie’s been practicing in my sewing room… I think she’s got a good chance of winning!

I go to bed thinking of that blouse and wake up thinking of it. I just had a final fitting a few minutes ago and hope to get all those hooks and eyes stitched on today… well, not HOPE, I HAVE to get it done today!

      I’ll keep my riddle a surprise for a little while longer… you’ll see…maybe tomorrow…
      Thanks Cindy,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  2. It’s got to be Josefina??

Great job on this wonderful sari. What is the gold piping around the neckline made of? So beautiful.

And I just love Janie’s new outfit. You are making me want a Little Darling. I’ll have to go look to see if my money tree has any buds on it. This long hot summer might have stunted it!!

    1. HI Anna,
I won’t give away any answers to my riddle just yet… but I see your guess!

The gold piping is from a package and I think it’s gold lame’ and very fine. It’s tissue paper thin and frays very easily.

Oh, I hope you find some money for a Little Darling on your money tree! They are the sweetest dolls ever!
      Thanks so much Anna,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  3. Jeanne, what a wonderful story to introduce Janie’s outfit! I love your presentations. One of these days I really have to find a Little Darling doll.

The sari top turned out beautifully. Especially nice work considering the type of material.

I am not going to peek at the answer but instead will write your clues down and try to figure it out. Good clues and a fun game!

    Blessings.

    1. Hi Paula,
Maybe if Anna finds her money tree has buds, she can give you a shoot off her tree!
Thanks for your kind words about Janie’s outfit. It was fun to come up with all the extras for it.
I just came from a fitting and I’m almost ready to move on to other things… YAY!

I won’t give the answer just yet, so keep working on it…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  4. How beautiful the blouse for the sari turned out! Now you need to make a doll sized one!
Like someone mentioned yesterday, Josefina would make a beautiful model for it!

Janie’s outfit turned out so adorable! I like the little storyline you included in the auction, just perfect!

Ummm, well, I am absolutely NO GOOD in figuring out puzzles and looked at it earlier this morning, but could not think of a single thing each clue would solve,( kind of embarrassing!) so I am leaving it up to some smarter readers of yours. I always feel that I am wasting my time with puzzles and crossword puzzles, so tend to just pass them up. I’m a right-brain person, so no good with that stuff at all!!!

    1. HI Linda,
Yes, Josefina would look pretty in this bright green fabric with her darker skin…
Thanks for your kind comments about Janie’s auction… it was fun to think up…

Well, I don’t want to tax anyone’s brain so early in the morning, but you’ll find out soon who will be next up for a dress…
      Thanks Linda,
      Blessings, Jeanne

  5. Well, just checked the money tree and no buds. In fact, it looks like it’s not even alive, very withered and brittle.

    1. OH Anna, I’m so sorry… guess you’ll have to wait till the Spring and see what happens…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  6. So, did you sew the piping on first and then the lining over it to cover the ends? Then turn and topstitch everything? Or did you add the piping after it was already turned? It is very professionally done.
I too want a Little Darling, but the cupboard is bare here. There is food, but no coins. 🙂

    1. HI Joy,
I did the piping the “cheater” way and added it after it was all finished. I didn’t know she wanted piping on it when I was constructing it. It stays to the back side so it isn’t a problem, it just doesn’t look quite as neat as when it is sandwiched between the layers…

Oh I wish everyone could have a Little Darling of their own… they are so much fun…
      Blessings, Jeanne

  7. Marilyn Grotzky

I think I’ve figured out who’s next, but there might be another doll with the same number of vowels in her name.
Whoever it is will be a very lucky doll.
The sari blouse is beautiful, but I’m betting that the next dress won’t be green and gold. Think how lovely to go home to India with a beautiful American-made blouse. I’m still hoping for pictures.

    1. HI Marilyn,
I think you might know who is next… you’ll find out tomorrow!
You’re right about the green and gold… I’ve got to do something different… how about red and cream…
You’ll be surprised when you see Amma in her Sari. I delivered it and she showed me the underblouse with the Sari wrapped around it… she told me she would have someone take pictures and then she’d get them to me… You’ll be surprised…
      Thanks Marilyn,
      Blessings, Jeanne
