Here we go…

Hi… I’m Jeanne and I’d like to welcome you to my newest and very exciting adventure…. “I Dream of Jeanne Marie!” I still can’t believe it… a very dear friend created a website and blog for me and I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes us! I have high hopes and want this to be a fun place where you can come and enjoy some pictures and see what’s happening in my world. I’ve been making a list of things I want to talk about and show you so I hope you’re all ready for some fun. I even have some tutorials and sewing tips planned!

I’ve been sewing since I was 6 years old… and for the last 52 years I’ve been trying to perfect my skill. My mom caught me cutting up my pajama bottoms so I could use that shirred elastic at the waist for the Barbie dress I was making. I still have that dress. Want to see a picture? I guess even WAY back then I had a “thing” for Regency dresses! I think I have improved just a “little bit” and hope you can see the difference when you take a peek at this Regency dress, finished last year.   Regency Dress in Blue Blue Regency Dress

I majored in Clothing and Textiles with an emphasis on Apparel Design. I just never dreamed I’d be making and selling doll clothes instead of people clothes. I have the best job in the world… doing what I love with all my heart… sewing, and especially sewing for my dolls. I’ll introduce them all to you very soon. Thanks for stopping by, Blessings, Jeanne

I’d like to get this blog off and running with something fun, so I’ve decided to have a GIVEAWAY really soon. If you’ll subscribe to my blog, (you can always unsubscribe later if you don’t like it) I’ll enter your name in a giveaway of a pair of my fingerless gloves. The drawing will be 2 weeks from now, on August 15th at noon. And EVERYONE loves comments, so if you’ll add a comment, I’ll add your name TWICE to my drawing! How’s that?

You won’t want to miss tomorrow’s post… it’s not about dolls, but it does involve a sewing machine….

  1. Woo-hoo, Jeanne! So excited about this, too. Have fun. Now when I hit the sign up for Pinterest…what does that do for me? I could not tell immediately. I see you gave your age away, you “baby”…so a dinosaur like me needs even more guidance than a baby dinosaur like you!
Have a lovely day, congrats and thanks. You rock! :~)
    Hugs,
    Sally

    1. Sally,
You are my FIRST comment… something I won’t forget! Gotta see if this works… before I say more…

  2. Hi, Jeanne! I came over from the AGPlaythings board. What a beautiful regency dress! I like the story and the picuture of the Barbie dress, too. I look forward to doll sewing tips. I taught myself how to sew a few years ago and I’m getting back to it after 7 years.

Looking forward to more fabulous posts!

  4. Hi Jeanne, this is Jeannie B. I love your blog site already!! The more I read about dolls the happier I am. I am looking forward to your tutorials, guides and examples of your work. Also, I’d love to join in by showing some of my vintage toys that I cherish. I too can look back to the old days when my love of all things ‘dolls’ was deep in my soul.
I wish you the very best as you take this exciting adventure with DOLLS !!

  5. Thank you, Jeannie!
It’s nice when everyone is happy with what each of us is doing!
